The causes and effects of child abuse

The trauma of being abused at a young age is one which is never easy to get over. For some of these young ones, the scars stay on for the rest of their lives while others would need therapy to stand a chance of making a full recovery and functioning as solid members of society. You will have no doubt about my opinions after visiting the amazing collection of child abuse essay by Edusson. The immediate outcomes associated with such abuse include inferiority complex, feeling that one is unloved and in some cases, depression.

Below, an essay on what brings about child abuse and the results of such actions

Causes

A major cause of child abuse lies in the inability of parents to successfully navigate the stage of parenthood. It is known that there are times when things aren’t going as planned. Perhaps money isn’t coming in as hoped, and no free access to basic amenities or there is one underlying issue which leaves the parent dissatisfied or angry at the worst.

At the time, it is difficult for the adult involved to properly react in such situations and for some, abuse becomes the outlet. It isn’t excusable in any way to engage in such, yet it has become the reality of our world today where the grown-ups lose their cool at the slightest provocation and have no issues abusing a child. I strongly advocate against this, this is an essay to that effect.

It must be noted that there are instances where the above-named situation arises from adults setting unrealistic expectations and if it falls short, the child carries the brunt, on the other hand, some were never ready to have kids and tend to them as afterthoughts which leads to them being treated shabbily without taking into consideration, immediate and later effects of their actions

Another main cause of child abuse is substance misuse. This has become a huge issue as this particular vice has been in existence for a very long time without showing signs of slowing down. This is considered an escape from life issues by some adults which in turn leads to the mind being clouded and of course, the child suffering it ultimately.

On the other side, the upbringing which one had could play a huge role in how they treat others. For someone who was abused as a child and didn’t get the necessary help afterward, there is a huge chance of this behavioral pattern being inscribed on the subconscious which would rear its ugly head at intervals.

Effects

The most common effect in abusing a child is a physical injury. Due to the delicate nature of their bodies, it is very easy for their skin to be deformed at different spots. This is often very painful to that child, and there is no telling what other issues could arise from this. For example health complications which could even include brain damage. It is advised that abuse is never viewed as a mean of discipline under any circumstance.

Another crucial effect is mental defects. Examples include isolation, constant fear and an innate ability to freely trust people. From the above assertion, one can easily deduce that while the physical effects can cause a tremendous amount of pain, the mental aspect can stay with the child, thus increasing the possibilities of long term interactive disorder which could lead to a plethora of consequences.

In extreme cases, the effects could include depression which is caused by different but similar factors. A child that experienced abuse is actually likely to become afraid when faced with any situation that is slightly similar to a painful memory. Sample of observation has shown that the child is introverted. If left unchecked, there is the possibility that the child gets used to this particular lifestyle where they feel alone at all times and if the help does not come, might gradually slip into depression which is a whole new level of mental illness and would require even more effort to get out of.

Ideally, it would be convenient to end by strongly advocating against any form of abuse. If for any reason it does happen, the next best thing would be to seek immediate and adequate help for the victim as it would most definitely be of help to them in becoming a better version of themselves.
