Teal Traina 60s little brown dress….

If you are ever bored take yourself on a magical ride and go to www.1stdibs.com and type in Teal Traina. It’s a FAB FAB FAB label and one that everyone doesn’t already know, which is always a way to stay ahead of the curb.  Teal Traina died in 2002 at the age of 85 years old. Teal Traina was a 7th Avenue legend who inherited both the business started by his uncle, Anthony Traina who was the financial partner of Norman Norell – and his knack for discovering young talent. He gave Geoffrey Beene & Chester Weinberg their first jobs. The Traina name was extremely well known on 7th Avenue after WWII when Teal Traina joined his father and uncle’s business, Traina-Norell. If you ever see the label Traina-Norell just grab it. Geoffrey Beene worked at Teal Traina from 1958-1963 so this little brown dress very well could be a Geoffrey Beene design for Teal Traina.  The Teal Traina business closed in 1978 when he retired.
