Overview

With a bang in the Indian automobile market the Tata Motors have been dominating the market with its new launches. However, it has always been the huge SUVs or the hatchbacks that has gained much popularity till date. This time, in order to face the challenge in its own game, the company has manufactured a compact sedan known as Tata Zest which is placed in the lucrative sub 4 meter segment. This vehicle is offered in several trim levels such as XE, XMS, XM and XT. Though this vehicle is available in both diesel and petrol version, the manufacturer is offering a special diesel version known as XMA which is unique as it is equipped with an advanced F-Tronic AMT transmission gearbox. This vehicle would be competing against likes of Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.

 Look and performance goes hand in hand

The exteriors of the vehicle is designed brilliantly with the signature grille in the front facia. The look of the vehicle in the front gives an impressive elegant look. The vehicle is in for competition in the compact sedan segment with a lot of new and unique features. This vehicle is bestowed with the new 1.2 litre Revotron petrol power plant which is not only powerful but also fuel efficient. This power plant churns out a maximum power of 88.76bhp and a maximum torque of 140Nm. The diesel version on the other hand is powered by a 1.3 litre quadrajet engine churning out a maximum power of 88.76 bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm.

First in features of the compact sedan

Couple of first in features are incorporated in the diesel trim XE, such as, Led daytime running lights, LED taillamps , projector headlamps and so on. The vehicle is not only designed well but also is taken care of in aspects such as ride and handling. It is equipped with an EPAS ( Electronic power assisted Steering) that enables smooth and efficient riding on the Indian roads. It is imbibed with qualities such as active return and speed related functions ensuring an effortless driving experience. For further stability of the vehicle  it has been bestowed with a 9th generated ABS and EBD strengthening the braking mechanism.

Interiors of the vehicle is also given a premium and classy look with a lot of chrome inserts. A single wig shaped graphics is used to connect the AC vents and the instrument cluster. Infotainment system has been designed by Harman that includes 5 inch touchscreen, advanced voice command recognition and surround sound effect equipped with eight speakers. Some of the safety features included in this vehicle are dual front SRS airbags, parking sensors and speed sensing auto door locks.
