In our celebrity-focused pop culture, we are surrounded by images and photographs of people that – let’s face it – always look perfect.  What we don’t see is the prep time, the planning, and all the little things celebrities do to achieve the “easy” flawless looks they portray.

An often-ignored part of their appearance is undergarments.  But think about it – when do you see their undergarments? (Answer: Never).  And how do they look? (Answer: Pretty Awesome).  So what’s the secret? Well, it wouldn’t be a secret if we could see or we could know how they do it.  But, for the sake of this post, I’ll share an important one.

Q: What can the right bra do for you?

A: In three words: endless, wonderful things.  The right bra can a) make your clothes skim over your body (and that’s without changing you or the clothes, b) position your breasts so you look like a variant of Barbie (including giving them shape, support, and helping them look proportionate to your body, c) make you stand taller (which makes you appear more confident, taller & thinner, and helps reduce bulges) and d) can make you look like you lost weight (all due to the position and support of your breasts, and lifting them away from your waist.

The sad thing is, it’s commonly believed that up to 90% of women are wearing the wrong bra or bra size.  This means that most of us will never see any of the benefits above, simply because we’ve never had the experience.

As an image consultant and personal stylist, I’ve had the experience myself of being blown away by the right bra.  I could say I was immediately hooked (no pun intended), and I can personally attest to the power of the right bra.  In my recent fitting session at Intimacy, I received a good deal of knowledge, tips and information from their delightful staff.  Some things I already knew, but other tips I couldn’t wait to share with my clients.  And as a specialist in all-things-image, I’m always happy to refer my clients to the experts they need, whether it be in undergarments, alterations, skincare, or hair care.

I believe that each of us should be able to feel our best (even feel like a celebrity) in our daily lives.  Often, it starts with what you can’t see (like their undergarments) but it’s the final result of expert planning, skills and knowledge that make celebrities and my image clients the best of who they can be.
