Should we buy expensive jeans for the holiday'?

Should we buy jeans that cost over one hundred dollars? Well, I know what you fashion designers will say. This question is more for those of you that are not actually selling designer jeans...

The question of, "how much should we spend on jeans" is actually very appropriate for me personally. The reason being, this past weekend I purchased a pair of jeans that cost $125. Now, for many of you this is very common place and you may be thinking that spending over $100 is actually very inexpensive to purchase jeans. However, the reality is that I am fairly frugal. And possibly not as well to do financially as you are... Unfortunately for me, I do not think that I ever paid this much for jeans in the past.

Why did I spend $125. for a pair of jeans?

If you want to know the truth, I blame my wife entirely (as I do for most of my woes..). We had been shopping together, and she prodded me into the jeans that I deem to be expensive. I think she is tired of me looking like a fashion disaster. Little does she realize it will take far more then a pair of designer jeans to pull me back from the brink of becoming a fashion disaster. Actually, she probably does realize how far gone I am...

By the way, while shopping with my wife I did realize how easy it is to spend money. Why does spending money come so easy to her? I could have been hallucinating, but it appeared as if she put very little thought into the "price" of the clothing we were buying. I should probably keep one eye on her and my other eye on fashion. Actually, the way she was tossing around the credit cards, I better keep both eyes on her...

Anyway, the spending of my children's college education money on my jeans this weekend what clearly not my fault. Certainly, I can not say no to my wife's suggestion for me to make an attempt at dressing better...

Do the jeans fit better then my typical cheap pair of jeans?

Truth be told, we were shopping all morning and I was getting tired. I promise, I did actually try the pants on, but I did not spend much time thinking about the fit. Shame on me... I will hopefully have time to try them on again tonight. By the way, if they do not fit, I will probably blame my wife (see the evil trend of wife blaming...). Why didn't she make me come out of the dressing room to show her how they looked on me? Yes, I know she is NOT my mother... Anyway, I am actually joking about blaming my wife (this time..)

Will I return the $125. jeans and head back to my well fitting Levi's?

Well, that is a good question. In all honesty, I have no clue yet if I will return the jeans or not. Obviously, you did not read above when I stated I need to try them on again to make sure that they fit well. If they do not fit, I must return them. If they do fit well, I most go thru a grieving period for a few days (grieving over the loss of my money). I will need to internally debate back and forth in my mind if I actually need these jeans. By the way, I am not one hundred percent crazy. There is actually a term for this, so I know I am not the only person to go through this emotional roller coaster when purchasing product. The term I believe is cognitive dissonance.

Should YOU buy expensive jeans?

Absolutely, you should. After all, buying jeans at any price will help the fashion industry. It is always a good idea to help the fashion industry. After all, isn't that why you are reading this blog post on the Fashion Industry Network. You are most likely reading this to take a break from the "forums" section where you had been busy trying to help other members in need of answers.

If you were curious, I had purchased Lucky Brand Jeans at The Grove at Shrewsbury. I was very impressed with the store. Actually, bought a cool shirt also (well, my wife thought it was cool, so I must agree...)

Note: I really do not have to do everything my wife suggests (I asked her and she said I could say that...)
