For Autumn/Winter 09 the collection Charu draws inspiration from the heroines of the past like Maharani Laxmi Bai, Chand Bibi and Kaurvaki who were quite simply: Women of impact.The collection keeps true to the Charu’s effect: ‘Sexiness with a Halo’. Each dress in all its forms now comes in slinky, figure hugging variations, cut and stitched to couture perfection. Tailoring plays a key part in her collection. Each ensemble was a collage. The silhouettes are structured, simple, and very wearable.Surface ornamentation has been done thoughtfully treating it with square lightweight sequins keeping comfort in mind.Her colour story adds a ray of sunlight on a gloomy winter day.
