Festival fashion has been looking a little tired of late no? Countless years have passed with an army of girls descending on England’s fields in denim shorts, hippy-headbands and layers of tassels drooping off them – a look that’s become a fashion unto itself for festival season, but nevertheless a little repetitive. Hurray then for  Spring/Summer 2011 – the season that has given birth to numerous exciting new trends, colours and shapes all set to breathe new life into dusty festival looks.

Over this week I shall be so good to post for you several festival inspirations and fresh looks guaranteed to differentiate you from yesteryear’s denim short cladded revellers, whilst still in keeping with the carefree, bohemian style synonymous with our famous festivals.

Starting with the maxi skirt – a vestment that was not quite ready to hit the festivals last year but boy how it fits into the festival scene this year! For a complete re-haul of the hippy-chick look don a maxi and team with a crop-top for a free-spirit vibe that’s also bang-on-trend. This look was all over star studded Coachella - the mother of all festivals, and where the celebrities tread we shall follow! Just add a fringed waistcoat, floppy hat and peace pendent for bohemian accents, or for an edgier look choose a bright colour-block maxi and pair with a statement tee.
