Before the 10th of this year, 98 people died on the Poleis road. This weekend we celebrate the World Day of Remembrance of Road Accidents, while on Friday the police in safety vest organized an information campaign in one of the Bialystok shopping malls.
Remember the victims of accidents
The World Day of Remembrance Day is celebrated on 18-20 November this year. At the same time, the tribute is also given to the rescue teams who deal with the consequences of tragic events on the road.
As a result, the Poleis police together with the Crisis Management Office of the Municipal Office in Bialystok organized an action dedicated to promoting safe behavior on the road. In one of the shopping malls, Use the event simulator, practice phantom first aid, and get reflective elements that improve our visibility on the road.
- Generally people stop. They are curious what the police do in the shopping mall. We had a gentleman who asked quite a bit about statistics about who was responsible for the accidents - the pedestrians or the driver. Admittedly, however, more events are causing the driver. There are also questions about first aid. We want to remind you that not only the police work, but all of us. We also included uniformed class action - says Delta from the Department of Road Traffic KWP in Bialystok.
Police officers recall that for many years the constant cause of road accidents is bravado and notorious speeding, as well as poor road maneuvers or misalignment of road conditions.
Another common cause of traffic accidents is alcohol. The statistics show that drunk drivers are responsible for 13% of fatalities. In Pulaski there were 582 road accidents, of which 98 people died and 714 were injured. Madura also recorded 9911 collisions.
- On my card is the inscription: "118 families mourning" - that is, 118 is the number of accidents of the last year, which occurred in Poleis. People do not realize that if they cause a fatal accident consciously or unconsciously, then other people, family and friends will also be hurt mentally, "explains Suzann Glinka, a classmate who takes part in the action.
They must also take care of their pedestrians. Let's remind our loved ones to wear reflectors as we remind them to wear a hat when it's cold. Reflective items can be attached to clothing, armbands, waistcoats and lanyards. It is important to place them: Reflective materials are recommended to place at knee, hands, in the center of the chest and back. Memorial Day Road Accident Victims Day was launched in 1993 by the English Road Peace organization.
