Call for entries:The American Sewing Expo is accepting applications for their Passion For Fashion design and sewing competition which will be held in Novi, Michigan on September 25-27, 2009. Twelve finalists will compete for an all expense paid trip to New York City in the spring of 2010, plus many other prizes. You must be at least 18 years of age and have the basic sewing skills needed to sew a fashionable garment to fit a model.Simply go to www.americansewingexpo.com, click on contests, fill out the entry form and send it with a $25.00 non-refundable jury fee and 1 fashion garment that shows your technical and creative skills to: American Sewing Expo, 1385 Clyde Road, Highland, MI 48357. All chosen entry garments will be returned after being on exhibit at the American Sewing Expo during the show.Entries must be postmarked no later than July 1, 2009 and the finalists will be notified by August 1, 2009.Friday, September 25, 2009 - Contestants will receive the challenge, shop for supplies with money from the expo, meet their models and begin construction their challenge garment.Saturday, September 26, 2009 - Contestants will finish and fit garments to be presented in a runway show for judging and award of prizes.The aforementioned is a partial list of rules.
