In typical millennium socialite fashion, when Paris Hilton turned 21 in 2002, she threw five different parties around the world over the course of the five nights, hitting London, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. You probably only remember one outfit from the week-long festivities, though: that slinky, silver chainmail dress that she wore with a thick matching choker, an instant classic that’s just about come to define early aughts party dressing.8843916690?profile=original

Though the frock might be over 15 years old now, it’s hardly reached its sell-by date. At Art Basel Miami Beach last week for a DJ gig at Wall Miami, Hilton repeated the very same outfit, matching its sparkling surface to headphones replete with glittering diamante studs spelling out her name.

The cheeky chainmail mini-dress first back to into the public consciousness after Kendall Jenner wore one to her own 21st birthday party two years ago. She essentially replicated the look down to the last detail, choker included, though the piece itself was a custom design by LaBourjoisie. Nicky Hilton donned a version of the outfit for Halloween earlier this year (she went as her sister, naturally), and Kim Kardashian West’s appearance at the Versace Pre-Fall 2019 runway show in New York just last week conjured up a very similar vibe.

It’s not even the first time that Paris herself has re-purposed the dress. She repeated the outfit last year for one of her DJ sets in Spain. Perhaps Hilton is out to show her copycats that she did it first, and she can still do it best.
