Packing Essentials For A Hen Party Getaway

It’s that time of year you’ve been waiting for – the ultimate summer getaway with the girls in aid of the blushing bride. It’s taken months of planning, coordinating work schedules and countless disagreements over the destination, but finally it’s here.

So, if you’ve settled on a sunny beach hen party whether it’s Spain or St Lucia, here’s a guide to packing the essentials for your girly getaway:

Makeup

If you’re venturing to a hot destination, then sometimes it’s best to take the bare essentials when it comes to make-up (not to mention the limited room in your suitcase). Consider packing a lighter foundation, like a BB Cream or powdered foundation for a more lightweight feel. Waterproofs will be your saviour here – waterproof mascara and eyeliner are a must, and most of them work effectively to stop any smudging. Pick two or three of your favourite lipsticks and then go with a neutral lip gloss, that way you have nude colour to coordinate with any outfit.

Outfits

One of the most important parts of packing for holiday is deciding on the outfits. When it comes to clothes, you want enough to have a varied look each day, but at the same time you need to be able to fit it all in your suitcase. Choose four or five basic pieces such as tops and shorts or skirts that can be mixed and matched, giving a few outfit options for each day. For bikinis and swimsuits, stick to two or three, there’s no need to go overboard. For underwear, just make sure you have enough for the time you’re there, although it may feel like you live in your bikini, it’s not always practical. If you’re the bride, then bring some luxury bridal lingerie to get you in the mood for your big day!

Shoes

Perhaps one of the hardest things to get right when you’re packing is how many shoes to bring. Strappy, heels, wedges, sandals…the options are pretty endless. The best thing to do is try and plan your shoes to your outfit. For the daytime, flip-flops are obviously always essential, then maybe pack another pair of comfortable sandals for walking, and some heels or wedges for the evening. Then again, if you’re bargaining on a night to remember, then some fluffy heels to team with your seductive lingerie might be a good idea...

Accessories

Pack your accessories thoughtfully, don’t just chuck anything in your luggage ‘in case’ you need it. Why not opt for a beach hat, some chunky bangles and anklet for a cute beach look? Sunglasses are always a must, as well as a few small handbags and maybe even a clutch bag for those nights out. Stay simple with the jewellery choices, you’re bound to walk past plenty of shops or markets and see pieces you’ll want to bring back anyway.

You’re All Set

Now you have all of your essentials picked out, you’re ready to go. Remember to bring the brides gift from all of you, and any other fun games or activities to bring some life to the party. Don’t forget to pack a camera to capture the best moments of the bride for memories in years to come. Polaroids work particularly well for this, and any pictures taken you’d rather forget? Well then…they can just be thrown away!
