Oscar de la Renta from Kansas City MO….

Sorry but I could not figure out how to add images to my blog posts from my iPhone or iPad while I was away.   You might think I’m really techno savvy but it’s all a farce.  Anyway I just got back from spending 5 days in Kansas City MO, it was my mom’s birthday so my brother Darrell flew the entire family up there.  I had never been to Kansas City MO before but  was intrigued by what I’ve been hearing. Words simply can’t express to you how much I truly LOVED that city.  It has some amazing art museums, all open to the public for FREE, everyone was extremely friendly and down to earth, I swear on a stack of WallPaper Magazines that we never heard anyone honk their horns while in traffic and most importantly I saw a real community of artist.  Hallmark is headquartered there so they employ thousands of artists, it’s a place you can go and actually have an intelligent conversation.  I know that sounds so snobby but listen I am a snob when it comes to appreciating the arts. Kansas City  has a ton of gorgeous water fountains someone told us there are more water fountains in Kansas City than in Rome.   I hit 9 thrift stores while there…. NINE of them and found this Oscar de la Renta blouse at one thrift store and the Oscar de la Renta skirt at another but I love the play on patterns so I knew instantly that I would want to blab about this ensemble.  I without hesitation love mixing patterns and prints, it’s so European and if you’re seen any Spring 2013 collection videos you’ll know what I’m talking about.  Sorry to be so long winded today but I have a lot to say about Kansas City and I swear the Chamber of Commerce didn’t hand me some check!  More will come so stay tuned…..  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel
