With the recent GQ/CFDA Men’s Designer of the Year Award and his first flagship boutique opening next week in New York, Alexander Wang’s proverbial icing on the cake is his latest women’s collection that he simply describes as “Extreme sportswear.”
Presenting a slick urbanite woman who embraces the idea of fashionable form and function, Wang’s standouts are the poncho/bomber combination offered in fabrics from technical to taffeta, and his fur trimmed blazers that also have the duality of a day jacket/fur coat. The palette of black, grey and camel dominated the collection and his fur trimmed shoes, headbands and eyewear added to the playfulness of the line.
