Now this is 1 serial thrifter….

I was deeply touched by Laura’s email to me on so many levels.  Hearing from another thrifter always makes my day and this letter was like one big cherry on top on the cake.  It’s a long a fabulous letter so here goes:

Dear Daniel,
I have now watched about half your videos and read parts of your blog.   Trust me, I’mma watch all your video and read that whole blog! There’s a thrift community on ThePurseForum.com and I introduced your videos to them.  They were impressed! And so am I! I’ve been thrifting since I was a little girl. My Mom taught me and her Mom taught her.  Once we were in Laguna Beach and Mom got so excited cause she saw a yard sale. So she runs over and starts going thru things when the people come out and say, “um, that’s our laundry.” ahaa!  But usually we were very successful.
She taught me well. LA is so packed with thrift that I started ignoring lesser brands at least a year ago. But when I heard the words, “Luxury Curator,” I swear it just changed my way of thinking!  So this morning I was listening to my inner voice telling me which store to hit up.  Daniel Troppy Style!
I listened and almost everything I scored today was 50% off due to white tags!  Except the snake bracelet and the belt … all 50% off.  Really it’s obscene when you can wear Armani and spend only $3!  I wanted to show you just what I got this morning.  It was the first time I have shopped, “Daniel Troppy Style …”
Giorgio Armani $3
Silk lined … and amazing on the body. It’s amazing how beautiful Armani is, the drape and the feel is just pure luxury!
Immediately adopted by my husband who refuses to remove it after reading Aquascutum designed for Humphrey Bogart and so many others.  This trench was $5 cause it had been there so long.
I almost passed out from excitement!  And when it fit Hubs, oh man. So happy!
Linen blend blazer from Laundry by Shelli Segal  $3
The sizing is so off on this jacket, leading me to believe someone washed it at some point.  I never believe sizing in thrift stores anymore.  We’re lucky to have dressing rooms in some of the thrifts …  so I make less mistakes!
Vintage Arm snake bracelet that I have searched for forever and ever … $7.99 … you know I wanted it if I paid $7.99 Daniel!  That’s a fortune in thrift land!
Piazza Sempione
David Hayes http://articles.latimes.com/1986-02-07/news/vw-5462_1_david-hayes
Nancy Regan Red!  This will be impossibly HOT with dark denim and high heels
Stay off Drugs Daniel! (stay on the thrift highs only!) ha!  In this piece the shoulder pads make sense.  In Armani … one should respect the shoulder pads also!  Only when the shoulder pads are horribly done, or damaged do I take them out. But I have strong shoulders!  I have to say I ws laughing about the rant on the Olsen Twins.  Here’s hoping they friended you on Facebook! These Theory pants fit like a glove!
Gotta love theory!  I had been seeing theory in the thrifts but had no idea how expensive they were til watching your videos.  Honestly I need a trip to Saks for “research!”
Vintage belt … Loved it! $5
It will be amazing with a simple little black dress!
I’ll never ever ever go back to shopping at Target or Old Navy or the Mall!  It’s so much better to be a Luxury Curator in your own life! And the lives of others!  My husband was so thrilled with the Aquascutum!  I wanted to let you know all the effort you go to, is being noticed.  And it’s such a hard time in US History, with our Economy and the Political Concerns of China.  Your blog and videos and your store are helping all of us Daniel!
Thanks a million for the videos Daniel!  I love them so much!  It’s so kind of you to share your knowledge and if I were in Atlanta I’d have to come shop your amazing store! One day if you’d do a video showing how you shop … I’d love to see it. I mean tips or tricks you use?  That would be amazing!
Lotsa Love!
Laura
