Online vintage clothing store New Retro UK will be previewing its collection at Fashion North in Leeds prior to its online launch next month. New Retro UK, founded by Aneet Bhachu, 25, is all about merging classic vintage clothing with contemporary style.
Aneet Bhachu said: “I love high street style but I don’t like the idea of my clothes being mass produced. I also love vintage shops but found I needed to adapt a lot of their clothes to suit a more contemporary fit and style.
And that’s why I decided to develop New Retro UK, so other people can buy authentic vintage clothing with a more modern look.”
Many of the items available at New Retro UK have been redeveloped using authentic vintage materials with only one version of each item. Rather than emulating one particular decade, New Retro UK takes inspiration from the 1960’s right through to the 1990’s whilst still making it current.
Aneet Bhachu says: “Clothing has become too disposable. I really want to inspire people to revitalise their old clothes. That’s exactly what New Retro UK does, it adds a new lease of life to vintage clothes that would have gone to waste.”
Not only are the clothes ethical and eco-friendly, its individual, unique, fashionable and cheaper than the high street.
Also there will be a designer boutique selling classic vintage clothing and accessories from brands including Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, D&G, Biba, John Galliano, Levis and YSL, that’s no longer available in shops.
