Moschino silk top with Sonia Rykiel skirt…

I just have to tell you this short story.  A lady came into Doubletake Recycled Luxury Boutique, my store, and saw these Ferragamo sea life pattern slacks and said “oh this pattern is so hot this Summer”….  you know I wanted to puke.   I simply said to her “sea life is always in STYLE…”  I can’t stand it when I hear people say crap like that because they are simply following someone else’s definition of STYLE…. All editors work for corporations, yes even Anna Wintour works for a big big corporation, and their single goal is to sell magazines which means they have to always come up with the color of the month, length of the skirt or this pattern is “in’ and that pattern is ‘out’….  It’s a business – it’s that simple.  So when I hear people make comments like that I automatically know they are sheep and not the wolf.  I can’t say it enough but people be the wolf not the sheep…  think outside the box and be creative. Dig deep within and stretch your imagination and know that if you wear something it’s “IN” because when you get to that level you have achieved true comfort in your identity.  That was short right??  Ok here is what I found in the same thrift store, this silk lovely Moschino top and this black classic Sonia Rykiel skirt.  I love that the outside of the skirt looks like the inside of skirt but it’s typical Sonia Rykiel.  She is the queen of knitwear no doubt.  This ensemble just needs the perfect pair of Alexander McQueen heels and off you go into the wilderness….  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
