Maria Grachvogel Fall/Winter 2011

8842877296?profile=originalThat's So New York - Maria Grachvogel Fall/Winter 2011 collection was a favorite for London Fashion Week. Known for her wearable clothes for all sizes and shapes, she manages the perfect balance of fashion and fit. The collection had clean lines mixed with an art deco glamorous feel of the 20s.  There were muted darks and neutrals along with pops of bright color, a current spring trend we are seeing go forward to the fall.  For daytime, there were one piece cat suits and textured ensembles of wool trousers and silk print tops.  This stand out collection also included bias cut gowns in luxurious silk georgette fabrics with twisted details and narrow bottoms. Cocktail dresses with asymmetrical hemlines that were shorter in the front and longer in the back gave an air of sexiness while still being ultra elegant.  Of all the extraordinary fabrics used in this collection, lace was one of the most important.  Complete ensembles to lady like dresses and tops mixed with silk "magic cut pants" that fit tightly at the waist, were key evening looks. In addition to the easy, wearable and glamorous designs, the collaboration of Erickson Beamon and Maria Grachvogel produced an exquisite jewelry collection. These bold statement pieces were the perfect finishing touch to the clean lines and sumptuous fabrics.
