We’re ringing in the New Year, and everybody’s making resolutions. We all want to look better, feel better, and otherwise improve ourselves, and the turn of the calendar gives us that extra motivation. It’s a time to start new good habits, embrace something different, and look forward with the optimism that only a fresh start can bring.
While everyone else heads out to the gym with grand plans to burn off their holiday calories, I like to keep my resolutions closer to home. Some years I concentrate on the kitchen, trying new recipes for healthier eating, but there are other rooms in the house that are just as important. This year, it’s all about the bedroom.
And I’m not just talking about what you do with your special guy when the ball is dropping at Times Square. Although that’s a fantastic time to put on your sexy thinking cap and create the year’s first memory, it’s more about setting the tone for the 364 days to follow.
How about introducing a new accessory to your lovemaking? You can start with ordinary objects you have around the house—some couples use simple things like feathers and soft brushes (such as the type used for makeup) to amplify the sensation on their most sensitive parts.
Fabric goes a really long way in this endeavor. Try experimenting with various textures and types of cloth to find the most tantalizing sensations, from the cool glide of satin to the warm comfort of brushed cotton. Make a point of playing up the visual element when you’re playing with cloth, as you use it to seductively cover—and uncover—body parts to tease and intensify the sex.
As always, you should both give your imagination a big role in making good times happen in the bedroom. It is just as important as your hands, tongue, and all of those other body parts that you don’t need me to name.
