Summertime is upon us and that means one thing: Vacation! We love to travel, but unfortunately some of us are chronic over-packers. So, we decided to ask our merry band of missionistas for their best summer packing tips to get you geared up for a haute holiday! Here’s a rundown of what they came up with…

■If you’re going for less than two weeks then adhere to the 3 Bag Rule: one great carry-on bag, one oversized purse, and one small clutch for evening.
■Choose fabrics that scrunch up without wrinkling, particularly knits and stretch cottons or denims, which are comfy to boot. Never pack linen, it will wrinkle every time, without fail. Rather than folding, try rolling your clothes, using tissue paper when rolling helps keep clothes from wrinkling as well. Also, anything that’s cute and can be rinsed out in a hotel bathroom sink without looking any worse for wear is definitely worth making room for.
■Choose a color theme that works well for your destination and itinerary. Stick with that theme so you can mix and match garments easily.
■Pack the basics and play them up with scarves, chunky necklaces, a fedora, or even some red lipstick. Don’t forget your sunglasses!
■Wedges are the perfect choice for looking chic and gamine while navigating through cobblestone streets. A pair of shoes for the beach/pool is also appropriate, and of course a pair of flats for sightseeing are a must. A true fashionista can get through her holiday with just three great pairs of shoes, so choose thoughtfully!
■Fashion meets function! Ankle socks are super trendy right now and they keep your feet warm on the plane!
■Try something floral, you’ll feel as feminine as you look in your new locale. Dresses work well for an easy transition from day to night. A pretty camisole is a staple transition piece as well. If you’re not sure what’s trendy where you going, check out local fashion magazines and websites from the region you’re visiting to get inspired. Check the weather forecast while you’re at it!
■Edit, edit, edit. Worst case scenario: You forget something and have to go shopping. Don’t pretend you weren’t going to go shopping anyway!
