Looking Tawdry: When Your Clothes Cry SOS

Notwithstanding the generally accepted maxim that style and fashion are solely feminine, men`s interest to both is almost equal to or even greater than women`s. Our metrosexual and hipster`s nowadays contribute even more to it. Thus, being equal in their striving to look attractive, males and females though sometimes are too assiduous in their efforts, which inevitably makes them look tawdry. Read the below remarks and look carefully in the mirror: are you the one from this page?

  • Your clothes are wrinkled. Rumpled clothes look untidy and make an impression of you as of a careless person. It is especially dangerous when you are going to an interview applying for a job. You may sound excellent, but the wrinkles on your shirt may completely ruin your image.
  • The seams of your underwear are shown to everyone. This is usually about women: some ladies don`t pay attention to such intimate details as the contours of their panties and bras vividly revealed under their clothes, so everybody knows what kind of underwear they have put on today.
  • Your clothes have too many different colors. You may look silly if have more than three colors combined in your attire, especially when these colors are acid-bright. Actually, three colors in one dress is a tradition. Of course, the up-to-date hip-and-edgies tend to step off this tradition, but it is often dangerous to exaggerate.
  • Your clothes are too much printed. Don`t try to combine several items with different ornaments in one ensemble. Let your ornament be the one, and place it either at the top or at the bottom of your attire.
  • You choose the wrong accessories. Using accessories is the utmost style! But you will be considered stylish only if using your accessories correctly. The rules are simple: a) accessories should not be in excess, b) accessories should be well-balanced with the overall attire – both in style and color, c) accessories should not produce noise, d) big accessories are only for big people, miniature people need small accessories.
  • There are stains on your clothes. Totally unacceptable, whether a hipster or not. Stains definitely spoil your image, whatever style. It can be either vivid stains left by dirt, or the stains from washing, for example, - when the washing powder remained unrinsed, or after bad ironing – when your iron left marks on your dress.
  • Your clothes are fluffed and bobbled. Little fluffs, even seemingly unnoticed, make people think you are too poor to renew your wardrobe. Be attentive to fluffs, and either remove them timely or just get rid of fluffy clothes and buy the new ones.

Today, many fashion addicts like hipsters, for example, tend to turn the style drawbacks into an absolute advantage making a tawdry look fashionably attractive. Yet, even if you think you are an experienced fashionmonger, be careful and don`t overestimate your style-making skills.
