Keira Gives Evidence

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has given evidence in the trial of a man who stalked the actress for 12 weeks, frequently arriving at her home with gifts and notes for the star.

"I’m scared every time I go outside," the Imitation Game actress wrote in a statement that was read out in court, reports the Daily Mail. "We loved living in this borough. My family enjoyed visiting local shops and playing in local parks, and being close to the heartbeat of London. We are now looking to move house outside the borough. We had hoped our child would go to school here."

The actress - who has an 18-month-old daughter, Edie, with her husband, James Righton - also told the court that knowing Mark Revill, who changed his name to Mark McCattipus, might appear at any moment, was extremely unsettling.

"When I return home, I have to look behind me, concerned I don’t know who might be in the shadows. The thought of him being on the other side of the door has left me quite shaken. If I was with my child we wouldn’t have been able to run away easily. The thought of my daughter being at risk is my worst nightmare."

Yesterday, the court banned Revill indefinitely from contacting Knightley or from going within 100 yards of her home, as well as an eight-week prison sentence which was suspended for 12 months. The judge presiding over the case also said he must receive mental health treatment and pay a £115 victim surcharge.
