Getting wrinkles is a natural part of aging for most people. Fortunately, there are ways to possibly prevent or at least minimize the appearance of wrinkles. Trying any of these four methods may help you keep the wrinkles at bay.

Avoid Too Much Sun Exposure

Spending too much time in the sun can cause skin to age and wrinkle. Excessive sun exposure can also put you at greater risk for developing skin cancer. If you plan to spend time in the sun, wear sunscreen that has an SPF protection level of at least 15. Any sunscreen that you wear should also be formulated to protect your skin from UVA and UVB sunlight. Wearing a hat and other sun protective clothing can also help keep your skin from aging prematurely.

Eat Healthy

Making the right food choices can also be effective in keeping your skin wrinkle-free. Cold-water fish like salmon contain plentiful protein and omega-3 fatty acids that are known to benefit skin health. Many types of berries contain antioxidants that fight free radicals that are known cause the skin to age prematurely. HuffPost notes that drinking green tea is a great way to help your skin cells regenerate so that your skin stays younger. Honey is another beneficial food that can be eaten or worn as a facemask to prevent wrinkles.

Try Injectables

Some doctors and medical spas offer injectable treatments for facial wrinkles. Botox is one of the most popular injectables that can smoothen lines and wrinkles with seamless results. Many people have also experienced success with Juvederm filler. Restylane involves the use of tiny injections to smoothen facial skin. Collagen injections are still sometimes used to decrease the appearance of wrinkles and fill in hollow areas of the face.

Drink More Water

There is evidence suggesting the importance of drinking plenty of water to prevent skin wrinkles. Even though drinking more water isn’t a sure-fire way to prevent wrinkles entirely, doing so can keep your skin from drying and flaking, which may worsen wrinkles. Drinking enough water may also give your skin more tightness and buoyancy. It’s generally recommended that you drink eight glasses of water daily for the best results. Try drinking most of your water at room temperature to make it easier for your body to process.

You might be able to avoid the onset of wrinkles by taking the right precautions. There are many ways to prevent wrinkles, and finding what works best for you can give you the outcome you want.
