Joanna Nelson vintage 60′s LBD…

I have never heard of Joanna Nelson before so when I spotted this hanging in the thrift store I became intrigued.  I whipped out my iPhone and Googled Joanna Nelson vintage clothing and I didn’t find much but found that she sold her designs at Bullocks Wilshire in Los Angeles and that was enough for me.  Bullocks Wilshire was located on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles in the most amazing Art Deco building known to mankind.  It was completed in 1929 and was a very expensive upscale department store that catered to the upper crust as well as the R$CH and famous.  Bullocks Wilshire patrons included Mae West,  John Wayne, Marlene Dietrich, Alfred Hitchcock, Greta Garbo, Walt Disney & Clark Gable just to name a few.  While struggling to become an actress, a teen aged Angela Lansbury worked as a sales clerk.  Future First Lady Pat Nixon also served a stint on the floor.  It finally closed in 1993 which was end of a era.  So after all that I know very little about Joanna Nelson except she sold  her clothes at Bullocks Wilshire and to me that says everything.  This simple LBD with a salmon color belt looks amazing as the day it was made.  Then again it would have to be in order for Bullocks Wilshire to have sold her goods…..  With a great pair of booties this ensemble can turn heads….  Be STYLISH go green.  Daniel your luxury curator!
