Traveling can be a drag. The endless lines at the airport, the crowded planes and unhealthy food on the go – they all take a toll on your look and comfort while traveling. Before you check in at your amazing rented property, it's likely that you'll feel drained and definitely unstylish. But don't worry – here are 6 tips to help you travel in style and full comfort.

1. Pick the right suitcase

First things first, there's the matter of the suitcase. Opt for a carry on and get as much as possible into it. Choose a suitcase with different compartments – it's just perfect if you're making a lot of stops and don't want to create a mess inside your bag.

Naturally, if you're traveling for more than a week, you'll need a proper suitcase. Pick a hard-sided industrial-sized suitcase. A designer duffel is just perfect for a weekend trip to the country. If you like to dry-clean each piece and zip them directly into garment bags, choose a smart wheeled garment bag instead of traditional models and you'll enjoy your clothes fresh and crisp upon arrival.

2. Pack with a strategy

Make it quick and make it smart. Decide on a color scheme and add clothes with different textures and materials. Think ahead about your outfits, but pack for different types of weather. Do your homework to learn whether you'll need mostly casual clothing or you'll be attending some events where elegant wear is a must.

Some travelers like to develop a uniform which works with many of their pieces. Pack versatile clothes which you like to wear – you don't want to be carrying that chiffon dress you last wore ages ago.

3. Bring more jewelery

One of the smartest things you can do is bringing less clothes and more jewelery. That's right, one statement necklace or a pair of stunning earrings can make your entire outfit. In the end you'll end up carrying less and have many more options. Jewelery is excellent for repurposing your outfits as well – chuck these daytime casual bracelets for an elegant necklace and you got yourself a perfect evening outfit.

4. Wear flats

If we've learned anything from the traveling fashion crowd, it's the comfort of flat shoes. You simply can't drag a suitcase behind you while wearing a pair of heeled sandals or pumps. Together with carrying your large tote bag and trying to hold your phone all in one place is only manageable while wearing a pair of comfortable flats.

Choose cute loafers or ankle booties – they'll keep your feet warm throughout the flight. A pair of ballet flats is just perfect to wear during the travel – make sure they're slightly loose as your feet might swell during travel.

5. Pack it all in a large tote

Bring one piece of carry-on luggage and personal item with you. It's a good rule, because it basically prevents you from losing anything on you way. One smart method to have it all is keeping your belongings in a large tote bag. You can fit there your laptop, a fresh copy of Vogue, a make-up bag and even a bottle of your favorite perfume. You can also opt for one of the stylish backpacks we see everyone wearing these days.

6. Keep your make-up simple

You don't need to look stunning on the place. Fake eyelashes, thick coats of foundation or meticulous eyeliner are all nothing against hours in bad lighting and dry air. Keep your make-up to a minimum and you won't regret it – after all, you don't want to exit the plane looking like a raccoon. Have your favorite lip balm ready and pack a small sample of your favorite moisturizing cream to keep your skin in shape during travel.
