It's time for a music post. I have seriously been waiting for this album since 2009! Finally, Peter Doherty his second solo album clearly! "Hamburg Demonstrations" is published d. 2/12, but you can already pre-order it now (here) and get 2 numbers right away. And it's seriously good numbers! "The whole world is our playground" was released in connection with the "Record big day" in April, and has stuck to my playlist ago.
It really is a super fine number, and very poetic and Doherty-sk. "I do not love anyone (but you're not anyone)" is the latest issue, and as the title indicates, it is also very true to his universe. Not as catchy as the first, but has only just downloaded it, so it must (as with most things he does) just have a few laps on the play list. Give them both a listen. Love music where I challenged both on the construction, on vocals and text. You do not get it all served with the same, there are lots of layers, and you get left its literary references to the test. There's plenty to think about, and I love that!
Additionally, I've a great love for the city of Hamburg, so that's another plus (the album was recorded over 6 months just here). Can easily imagine the places he has hung out and been inspired by. Only problem? Now I have the desire to slip away to Hamburg in December;)
