Going bonkers for Lego jewellery

The world has officially gone mad. Now, you know me – I love my accessories, and usually can make anything look stylish. However, this is just one step too far.

What am I talking about? The new fashion craze – Lego bricks and its combination with jewellery!

That’s right girls, for the princely sum of £50 (charms extra), you too can stick a Lego brick on your finger (although, armed with the ring off a coke can, Lego brick and superglue, I can do it for about 40p). Available in Selfridges, the silver rings come with an interchangeable brick, along with a collection of 23 charms of Christmas trees, gardens and flowers, all priced at £15-£20 each.

The Lego rings, designed by Lisa Taylor, all form part of Selfridge’s Christmas playtime theme, which also includes Play-Doh scented perfume and Lego nail varnish.

Right….what’s next? Jelly Baby earrings or Sherbert Fountain handbags? (If these appear on the shelves shortly, I will be asking for commission).

Of course, Seasonsonline has its own version of wacky jewellery. Luckily, you’ll be pleased to know that our pieces don’t cost anywhere near these Lego gems.

These black apple diamante stud earrings are made of enamel and are certainly different! Priced at only £2.99.

Lucy has said that in light of this blog post, we could re-market this piece as aliquorice allsort necklace and charge £150 for it. That’s a memo to self for later on, but in the meantime, you can snatch it up for £5.99 – how’s that for a bargain? It’s a funky bright pink square pendant necklace, with the wire square set on a black ball chain.

And finally – I’m not quite sure how to describe this. Some of us think it looks like a piece of popcorn, others like a crisp, but it’s certainly very unusual and will definitely raise a few eyebrows!

This cracked gold nugget ring will stand out a mile on your finger and it’s priced atonly £5.99. Mary Portas eat your heart out!

Right, must dash – we have an important project to crack on with this afternoon, involving a Twix, a thin piece of wire, some glitter and some beads. Any other ideas of sweets we can use, to make us all a fortune?
