Girls Pants, Jeans and Shorts Recalled by American Eagle

Be careful when producing children's clothing...

77kids by american eagle, the kids brand from American Eagle Outfitters, Inc., today announced a voluntary recall of select styles of toddler girls pants, jeans and shorts (sold in sizes 12 to 18 months, 18 to 24 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, and 5 years). The slide closure on the front of the waistband of these items can become detached and present a potential choking hazard. The company asks that customers stop using these products immediately and return them for a full refund. These products have been removed from the five 77kids stores and Web site. There have been no injuries reported. 77kids is conducting this recall on a voluntary basis out of an abundance of caution and a desire to communicate with customers in a timely manner.

Twelve hundred products were sold at 77kids by american eagle stores, and online between the dates of July 8, 2010 and August 30, 2010. Customers for whom the company has a record of sale will be contacted directly, the purchase prices will be refunded and they will be offered a $20 gift card. Returns can be processed by mail and at 77kids by american eagle stores.
