Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield weds high school sweetheart Mardi Harwood in a romantic ceremony at Port Phillip Bay

Australia’s football players and their WAGS have been taking full advantage of their off season break with a host of weddings.

And the latest couple to walk down the isle into Holy Matrimony was Geelong Cats recruit Patrick Dangerfield and his gushing new wife Mardi Harwood.

The high school sweethearts exchanged vows on Saturday during a romantic ceremony which overlooked the picturesque Port Phillip Bay.

The couple wed in front of family and close friends at the Terindah Estate, in Bellarine.

Mardi stunned on the day in an off the shoulder white gown.

The top half of the wedding gowns sydney featured a V-neckline and hugged her curves perfectly, while the bottom half of her dress remained loosely fitted around her legs.

The brunette beauty completed her look with minimal jewellery and a long veil which blew easily in the breeze.

Patrick was equally dressed to impress with the explosive midfielder sporting a navy suit and a gold tie for the special occasion.

The couple first met at Oberon High School and have been together ever since.

Another couple to start a new chapter in their lives was Aussie rules player Gary Ablett Jnr who wed stylist Jordan Papalia.

The couple said ‘I do’ on January 1 with an intimate wedding ceremony in country Victoria after a short, six-month engagement.

Held at a provincial estate and vineyard at Coldstream in the Yarra Valley, the Gold Coast Suns captain wed his blushing bride in front of their friends and family in the afternoon.

The 23-year-old brunette beauty stunned in sophisticated and unique bridal couture by J’aton, which featured a swirl-embroidered organza gown with a halterneck and an a-symmetrical bare back.

She accessorised with matching, unattached arm-length glove and a long veil.

Her hair was styled in a long slung yet voluminous ponytail and her makeup was reasonably subtle, but with added drama of false eyelashes and a smoky eye.

The groomsmen meanwhile sported navy suits, white shirts with black buttons, and black bow ties.

And finally Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess and Phoebe Hooke tied the knot at an exclusive ceremony at her parents Bowral property in front of 200 of their nearest and dearest.

Phoebe stunned in a custom made Alex Perry gown with a thigh-high split that showed off her enviable figure and toned legs.

The happy couple walked hand-in-hand down the aisle following the ceremony, while white rose petals adorned the grass.

Sam donned a custom Giorgio Armani suit, as did his groomsmen – his brothers Luke, Thomas and George Burgess, and best friend Chris Feather.

The bridal party included Phoebe’s sisters Jemima Fairbanks and Harriet Hooke, her best friend Phoebe White and her new sister-in-law Yolanda Hodgson, partner of Luke Burgess.

Guests included current and former league stars Greg Inglis and his wife Sally, Lote Tuqiri, Steve Menzies, Mark Carroll, John Sutton and Isaac Luke, the former team-mate flew in from New Zealand for the occasion.
