Fifteenth annual RSC fashion show showcases ‘millennial’ fashion

The amazing talents of Ryde Secondary College’s textiles students was on show last week at the school’s 15th annual fashion show.

The theme for Friday night’s runway extravaganza was ‘The Millennials’ with students from year eight to 12 showcasing their idea of what its like growing up in this millennium.

Ryde’s music students provided an exciting soundscape for the designers and models as year eight opened with a variety of hoodies and sweatshirts before year nine displayed their denim street-style dresses and jackets.

Year 10s Met Gala Ball inspired evening wear was a highlight of the show, as was the printed textile designs of year 11.

As is the case every year, year 12’s HSC works stole the show, featuring everything from an 1860s ball gown to a formal dress inspired by the garden of Versailles.
