Zardozi - Craftsmen use gold and silver threads to create Zardozi embroidery design. Zardozi comes from the land of Persia, it is an ancient art of sewing gold and silver threads on a fabric. Since this kind of embroidery is done with coiled metal wires studded with pearls and precious stones, the fabric becomes heavy. This is why it is done on thick and heavy fabrics such as velvet and silk. You can also find Zardozi work done on Lehengas and salwar suits.

Chikankari - Chikan or chikankari work is an eminent form of embroidery that can be seen on designer Kurtis. Chikan piece is crafted by block printing patterns on it after that craftsmen embroidery stitches along with the pattern and the finished piece are later washed to remove traces of the print.

Kantha - This embroidery style is mainly practised in Bengal and Odisha. It is a running stitch used for making different motifs (birds, animals, flowers). Kantha is done on multiple layers of cloth. Not just on salwar suits but it is alone done on sarees, dress materials, salwar kameez, bed covers, wall hangings, upholstery and a lot more.
