Embrace the season

Smile at the weather

If you are a bride planning a wedding in the Midwest, you have spent some time agonizing over wedding day weather, particularly if some portion of it will be outdoors.

And, let’s face it, while spring and summer bring all the charm of colorful flowers and fresh air, it is also notorious for its unpredictable weather patterns. It could – and maybe even will – rain when you least expect it.

Instead of fretting over inclement weather, use these ideas to temper your attitude toward the season.

Trust your vendors

Wedding vendors are skilled professionals and if you have chosen them carefully, it is likely this wedding is not their first. This means they understand the unpredictability of the weather and have had to deal with the issues that arise because of it.

They understand that this day is one you will remember forever and they would rather be remembered as a venue or florist that took the stress out of your day rather than adding to it.

… But not too much

Just because they are skilled professionals does not mean you should trust that all will offer an equal level of service. Read the fine print in each vendor contract to understand that vendor's approach to handling inclement weather.

If an outdoor ceremony or reception is planned, know specifically if a backup location is provided and how much time is expected to make the switch. Also, know how much responsibility for changes falls on you. Know what will be required to satisfy changing the environment for music, too. Live musicians and DJs feel uncomfortable playing near rain because of what the dampness might do to their instruments and equipment.

Accessorize

Planning for rain opens the door for colorful accessories. Purchase matching umbrellas for you and your spouse — or just one large one to share. Alternate shoes in a cheerful color brighten a dreary day, even becoming conversation-starters or show-stealers during picture time.

Use the rain

The rain can be a great prop with a seasoned photographer. Ask them to show you how they handled an unexpected rainy delay or situation. It can be an opportunity to capture amazing photos not able to be captured on a sunny day. Most wedding photographers have had to deal with rainy weddings before and are skilled at using the rain as a backdrop.

Don’t be afraid to get damp. The tuxes are rented. The dress will still fluff when it dries. Embracing the day for what it is will only add to its beauty and increase your smile.Read more at:red prom dresses
