Otherwise known as the Shah Jehan necklace. A gift to Elizabeth for her 40th birthday from Richard Burton, it sold last year at Christies for $8.8 million. I was about $8.79 million short of purchasing this so I searched for the next best thing.
In 1993-94, Dame Elizabeth did the Shah Jahan collection for Avon. Priced at $250, it was the most expensive piece of Avon jewelry sold. I've been stalking ebay, Ruby Lane and any other site I thought may have the necklace for a good price as some of these have sold for upwards of $1000. Given I was not going to pay that, I had to hedge my bets that one would pop up for way less. It did and I now have my little piece of my dear Elizabeth.
