September is the month when the budget of the Dutch Government is decided. It is the third Tuesday of September every year, when the monarch in power has to address the Dutch Parliament and outline the main budget and policies for the future parliament sessions. The ceremony reminds of the similar one in Great Britain where Queen Elizabeth takes out the golden carriage and goes for a drive to the Parliament. Even though the Dutch royals are not as glamorous as the British monarch, they still dress elegant and classy for this occasion.
Queen Maxima is a very stylish lady and she chose a fantastic look. She wore bright red, full length A-line Valentino dress, a matching hat by Fabienne Delvigne and amazing leather sandals by Miu Miu. Her husband also looked amazing in his grey suit. He was quite the gentleman when he helped his beautiful wife to get out of the carriage.
Princess Beatrix is the other person who can say that she knows the feeling that this day brings as she has done the same ritual for many years. Now, she just watches her son go on this amazing journey that she had enjoyed for years.
