Can a person truly be good at both Fashion Designer and Stylist. Most of the great designers at present have someone else style their shoots and shows for them. The great stylist out there don't have a clothing line.A chose must be made!!!

of course a person can excell at both.

a designer has a vision of what the clothing is conveying..

the designer knows how they want the apparel to look and what story it's telling.

the most important thing a designer needs  to do is let their apparel be the impact.

the desinger sets the tone for hair & makeup..

they might consult on accessories..but the total vision should be that of the designer...

and nothing should take the spotlight away from the clothing...

if the audience notices shoes instead of a dress or trousers..then something is stronger and is over powering the apparel..which is what you don't want.

it should all blend seamlessly..with the dress/gown/trousers being the star...and aceesories merely a compliment.

sometimes they are not even necessary.
