CoverGirl Lipstain

It stains and stains and stains - and that's a good thing!
I am by far not a lipstick girl. Most of my make up is meant for my eyes. So when Cover Girl came out with their new product I got curious. The Outlast Lipstain promises to not be the typical lipstick. It actually stains your lips, much like a felt pen, and that's also how it looks and feels when you apply the (water based) color.
Anxious to try it, I applied the lip stain right after I came back from the store one afternoon. The precision it provides is fabulous. I applied it as lip liner first and then filled the inside. This may sound weird, but when I applied the lip stain I couldn't help but compare it to applying a "lollipop" to it, you know, the ones that color your tongue and sometimes even lips? It must have been because of the sweet taste of the lip stain. When I drew over my lips it almost felt like they were absorbing the color instantly. Obviously, that was a good thing because, to my surprise, the lipstain lasted on my lips for hours without ever coming off. Even after having several glasses of water and a full dinner I had to actually rub it off at night time before going to bed!
Best of all: it did not dry out my lips like all these other lipsticks I have tried in the past. Of course, the next time we went out I proudly applied my new make up tool, and it delivered again just what I wanted: long lasting color and natural looking lips.
A great way to combine the lip stain is to apply a layer of clear Sally Hansen's Lip Inflation Extreme over the stained lips. It's a great effect, especially for a an evening out.
The Covergirl Outlast Lipstain retails at about $7-$9. I still don't know how many applications are in it but so far it looks like it's well worth the money.
I think I might be a lipstick girl after all. All it took was one good lipstick product!
