If you are a massive fan of Mod culture you will know that this era began in the 60s when anything was possible.  The younger generation freed themselves of conventional living and fashion.

It was a decade of hedonism which included all night parties and where drugs were taken to make you able to last the course.

However, clothing was revolutionary for the time as individual styles were an important part of distancing yourself from the staid clothing worn after the war years.

In those days pubs always closed early, at 11 pm, so inevitably coffee places became a popular venue for people to hang out.

Another remarkable thing was that it was not designer fashion houses that dictated what was in at a particular time, but ordinary youngsters in the street who determined what to wear.  As you know pop art also made its appearance which made clothing bright and fun to wear.
