I almost collapsed right there inside the thrift store when I saw this 2 piece vintage 70′s Celine jacket & skirt. This Celine treasure is a masterpiece to say the least… but I say that about all things Celine especially vintage. In 1945 husband and wife team of Richard & Celine Vipiana opens Celine in Paris. Richard ran the business and Celine handled the design and the rest is just good old fashion history. In 1966 Celine established a leather -goods factory in Florence and then they launched their iconic handbags. In 1987 luxury goods mogul Bernard Arnault assumed control of Celine through his holding company and the family was shown the door soon after that!!! That’s exactly what LVMH does (do your research)… In 1997 Michael Kors is tapped as Celine’s head designer making him one of the first Americans since Mainbocher to head a French Fashion House. This is an iconic French label and one that I never pass up. I added a modern touch with this Milly halter top because who doesn’t love Milly??? No one that’s who. A vintage piece and something modern always looks amazing together and it’s a timeless statement. Keep keeping it “green” because I’m your luxury curator!
