Casual Friday Destroys USA Economy

If someone was to ask you what caused the current economic crisis, you will most likely reply with one of the following: 1) Housing Bubble 2) Greed On Wall Street 3) Political Corruption (the government passed the laws opening the door for "greed on Wall Street" to run wild) 4) Over Extended Consumers (Hey, you have no money and no job, here's your mortgage...) You may be overlooking the true cause of the economic slow down. After many, many, "seconds" of research, I have single handedly determined the actual cause of our current global meltdown. In a nut shell, "CASUAL FRIDAY" destroyed the economy. Have you ever thought, "why did corporate America, make the transition from Suits to Jeans". Many people believe, it was for the sake of "comfort". After all, jeans and casual shirts are certainly more comfortable than a suit and tie. The problem is, once we are comfortable, don't we tend to "relax". Possibly, being relaxed makes us more creative. But can't being relaxed also slow our senses. At work, don't you accomplish more on an active day, then you do on a day that is quiet. For some reason, when you bounce from one task to the next, your mind typically stays sharp and more productive activity gets completed. On days that drag, do you spend more time gazing into space... Doesn't your mind wander when you are in a state of relaxation. Personally, I must attack the day to actually get something accomplished. Who ever said that "comfort" or "relaxation" should be even slightly associated with "work". In my opinion, WORK does not equal relaxation. Relaxation should be reserved for when you are not working. If we all worked to relax, why did we invent weekends... Let's keep in mind that it is not only the fact that Casual Friday helps us relax, it is important to note that society had "allowed the change". Why was it that corporations allowed workers to move forward with the concept of casual Friday? Was this a sign of weakness... Was this only the "first step" in a downward spiral... After casual Friday became the rage, haven't many companies expanded to the point that every day is now casual. So, first we were on full alert. Then we became comfortable on Friday's. Now we are comfy and relaxed all week... Well, I think that this is exactly what happened in America. We became "Casual"... Our minds wondered, and as a nation we collectively started to utilize horrendously poor judgment. Didn't the whole world become too comfortable. Many of us are too pampered.. too lazy... too accustomed to getting what we want. When we asked our boss for casual Friday, maybe he or she should have said no to our request. Hey mister or misses employee, "I know you would be more comfortable in jeans, but the fact of the matter is that you are at 'work', and I think you look more professional and you work more efficiently in your suit. So if you do not want my foot up your butt, get your behind back in that suit...". If your boss stood up and gave you tuff love, maybe we would not be in this financial crisis. When we get what we "want" and not what we "deserve", we are headed down the wrong road. Note: Politicians often wear suits. However, they are still using amazingly poor judgment. Therefore, maybe my entire theory above is WRONG... Oh well, I tried... By the way, I am not currently wearing a suit. FYI: I may change my view tomorrow...My opinions, always change... I guess this is why I write fashion blog posts and do not work for a newspaper... You are welcome to list your comments regarding Casual Friday in the comment section below.
