Cal State L.A. to offer Fashion Styling program taught by
renowned industry professionals
Open house on Sept. 9 offers early glimpse of program
Los Angeles, Ca. — For trend-setters looking to make a mark on the world of fashion, Cal State L.A. (CSULA) will launch the
Fashion Styling program this fall quarter, a nine-course program that will give
students access to industry professionals, celebrated guest speakers and
on-location photo shoots. Providing an early glimpse at the program, an open house will take place at CSULA on
Sept. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. in room 219 of the Golden Eagle Building.
The only program of its kind on the West Coast, the Fashion
Styling program is offered through CSULA’s Division of Extended Learning and
is available to qualified matriculated and non-matriculated students seeking to
expand their personal and professional lives.
“The Fashion Styling program will be an incredible opportunity for artists interested in this booming industry. The
program is specifically designed to prepare them for work as a collaborative
member of a styling team dedicated to creating stunning visual imagery,” said Crystal
Wright, the renowned former styling agent and celebrated author who
created the program.
The Fashion Stylist program is located in the heart of the entertainment industry. Wright hand-picked course instructors for
the program who have many years of experience in the industry and who still
work as leaders in their perspective fields. The instructors include
internationally-recognized photographer Kevin
Michael Schmitz, Los Angeles-based fashion stylist and wardrobe consultant Cory Savage and renowned
fashion stylist and costume designer Michele
Gampel.
The Fashion Styling program will test students’ abilities and enhance their skills in a learning environment that was specifically designed to develop their creative potential.
“This is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity,” said Wright. “Students will interact with industry professionals,
celebrated speakers and expert panels. They will also embark on several field
trips and photo shoots allowing them to take a rare glimpse into the fashion
world.”
The Fashion Styling program is open to all qualified matriculated and non-matriculated students interested in expanding
their personal and professional lives. Each of the nine courses are offered at between
$350 and $450. Most of the courses are scheduled in the evenings between 6 and
9 p.m. and on the weekends.
Students interested in attending the open house should call (323)-343-4916 to reserve a seat.
