BROOKLYN, N.Y., August 26, 2012 – The 14th season of Brooklyn Fashion Week[end}, beginning September 27 through September 30 atIndustryCity in Sunset Park will take guests on an international fashion journey. Filipino designer, Joyce Penas Pilarsky will premiere her 2013 Spring/Summer body accessory collection on September 29. Pilarsky always dreamed of becoming an artist and studied art a University in the Philippines at night and worked as a commercial/fashion model during the day. Pilarsky loves to paint nature and landscapes and is inspired by the beauty of her country, thePhilippines and hopes to boost tourism there.
In 2007 Pilarsky was awarded the Most Outstanding Artist in WurtenbergGermany. She is known for her artistic sculptures, paintings and photography throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the USA. She has made a mark in the fashion world and now designs body-hugging fashion jewelry. The accessories are bold embellished, pieces made to adorn and decorate the body. “I want to create daring jewelry that is truly special and has a unique style. Once I design, I always carry in mind that when a person wears it, she will dare to be different,” said Pilarsky.
Pilarsky is also an author of the book YSG! Young, Sexy & Gorgeous and outlines healthy natural foods and juices that will help everyone maintain their youth and beauty. Proceeds from the sale of the book go to Gintong Palad Balikatan Inc. and the Joyce and Gunter Pilarsky Foundation to help build schools for the marginalized children of the Philippines.
