About Braum’s

Henry H Braum purchased a butter processing business in Emporio, Kansas in 1933. His young son Bill Braum joined the family business. The business got boost in 1957 and has its own distribution chain and sold their products under the name ‘Peter Pan Ice Cream Stores’. Bill and his wife buy this from his father and work on to make company larger.

After ten years Bill and Mary sold ‘Peter Pan’ stores and started their own chain Braum’s in 1968. They got very huge success and in the first year they opened whooping 24 stores. Braum’s food philosophy is ‘if you want something done right…….do it yourself’. The company makes their own products from cow to cone.

The Braum family’s 10,000 acres main farm is located in Tuttle, Oklahoma. The company owns other 40,000 acres of farm. On the family farm they have their own dairy herd, a milking barn, processing plant, bakery, fleet of trucks and a vehicle maintenance facility. They grow their own feed at farm and process it so they can guarantee that there is no hormones or antibiotics is given to their dairy herd.

Braum’s expanded more and more as they originally an ice cream production and distribution chain. At every store you will see a grill, an old school ice cream and soda fountain and a grocery store.
