During my first Fashion Journalism lecture today i was shocked and a little heart broken when one of my tutors (he is a fairly young, and in his own words extreamly tired from the night before, kinda guy..) after giving, quite blandly, a list of all the landmark publications that have influenced fashion and lifestyle movements i. e. Purple, Cosmo and so on, this man soon made a statement that i should have been able to forcast, however still threw me.."Print Magazines will shorlty be a thing of the past"Internet has now become so instant and fashion forward that by the time we mortals get to see print copies we dont know if we're coming or going? None of us will buy magazines apparently we will just take our super slim laptops everywhere and search for the latest news and fashion. However appealing this might sound to alot of us, a part of me definately feels abit sad about that thought. Cant we all just slow down abit and stop acting like square eyed aliens in front of screens all the time unless its for work?? Surely Magazines, Newspapres and Books are a kind of escapism from this zoned out world of 'online'.. ?Yes you might be sat there thinking 'what a hypocrite' are'nt you online now woman? Well yes, because evidently, I'm moving with the times.. x
