Apparel Magazine

When searching for news and information regarding the Apparel Industry, I would obviously prefer that everyone turn first to Apparel Search. The reason that I select Apparel Search as the first choice is clearly because I have developed that site and it would be foolish of me to suggest another site above my own... Those of you that have been in the industry for many years, may have memory of an apparel and textile industry magazine called Bobbin. They went by this title for for a very long time. In more recent years they changed the name of the magazine to simply "Apparel". Since that change the magazine has actually passed along to a few different owners. At this time, the magazine formerly called Bobbin is now owned by Edgell Communications. Anyway, the reason that I am writing this blog post is to inform you that although the name of the company has changed from Bobbin, and the ownership has changed over the years, the magazine is still a very informative resource for the fashion industry. They provide both an online resource as well as an actual offline magazine (one that actually comes in the mail). If you have not checked them out in a while you can find them at the ApparelMag.com website. This should not be confused with the ApparelMagazine.com website which I actually own...(by the way, I owned that Apparel Magazine website "before" they changed their name from Bobbin). Despite the fact that I own the Apparel Magazine website (ApparelMagazine.com), I must admit that my true feeling is that the Apparel magazine by Edgell (ApparelMag.com) is currently more informative then my own magazine site... Hey, all of my sites can't be the best... Hopefully, I will have more time to work on my site in the future... If you are looking for an apparel magazine that contains information about apparel technology, manufacturing, or the apparel industry in general, you should check out their site. By the way, if you do visit their site, maybe you should ask them why they have not yet written any articles about the Fashion Industry Network. If they are as on top of the industry as I claim they are, they should have certainly caught on to the fact that FIN is a helpful resource for the apparel industry. Possibly, one of the members of this network can help convince them to write an article.. I have actually e-mailed them in the past, but still no article... If you have free time, possibly you can shoot them an e-mail asking them to write an article about the Fashion Industry Network. Possibly, they can quote something from you and also mention your business in the article. Actually, the more I think about it, I wonder why we have never been mentioned in the DNR or WWD. The members of this network are clearly important to the fashion industry. Why don't these traditional magazines and newspapers tell our story??? Also, you would think that a company like Style.com would make mention of the Fashion Industry Network or at least write an article regarding some of our members.. As a matter of fact we have a small but growing group of Style.com fans.

PLEASE keep all discussions relevant to fashion, textiles, beauty products, or jewelry.
