Completing your look with a hat can capture the essence of the image you want to portray. Although hats are not as popularly worn as they used to be in previous generations, they are still around in various styles to add ambiance to your outfit or set the tone for a special event as well as simply depict a mood. Here are four types of hats that can enliven your appearance.

Casual and Carefree

A trucker hat is nice and casual and can be worn by anyone of any age for comfort and fun. Trucker hats project a relaxed image and are a good look for running errands or spending time with friends. Because they come in a variety of colors with various patterns, themes, and designs, they go with any type of informal outfit and are often seen on students as well as shoppers and blue-collar workers. These hats are a good way to show off your favorite sports team, company, or anything.

Country and Western

If you like country music or outdoor settings, a Stetson cowboy hat or another brand will transform you into a farm girl or country boy. Whether you frequent rodeos or country music concerts, wearing a cowboy hat is part of the uniform of die-hard country fans who love the old-fashioned outdoor look. In traditional cowboy movies and television shows, the good guys wore white hats while the bad guys' black hats identified them as the villains. You might like a ten-gallon hat to help you stand out or a smaller version as a subtle add-on to your overall look for cowboy-themed events and parties, or even as part of your Halloween costume.

Classic Fashion

Add a beret to your ensemble to complete a bohemian look as an artist, poet, or musician. With its European origins and sassy tilt, a beret complements a folksy look for a classic style to make the wearer stand apart from those with a conventional appearance. Berets are made in an array of fabrics, often felt or wool among others, and can be found in solid fabrics or patterned designs. They are worn with both casual and certain styles of formal wear, depending on the occasion.

Comfort and Convenience

Having been worn for centuries in hot climates or warm weather to provide shade for complexions of all hues, a sun hat's principal use is for practical health, safety, and beauty considerations. Toiling outdoors in extreme high temperatures can cause sunstroke, so generations of wearers have worn different kinds of sun hats. Typically, these are lightweight and often made of straw with a protective brim. They’re good for a day at the beach or a day working in the yard.

Even people who dress well often forget the accessories that can set off a look. Next time you’re looking a good finishing touch, consider adding a hat to your look to cap it all off.
