Anchors and Nautical Themed Clothing

So last year about this time I was dating someone in the Navy (who kind of turned out to be a loser), when he left for bootcamp I was somehow compelled to get a anchor tattoo on my foot. Lots of people criticized that decision of mine but I have to say I love it. I have now created at least three stories to explain why I got it and alternate telling people them. (One is about how I just love J. Crew so much) Regardless I feel that the nautical theme is one that we will see appear in every spring line forever. There is really noting that says warm weather better then a sailboat or an anchor. The minute you see them you think freedom and adventure which is what the summer was made for. Not that I am overly patriotic (much more fond of the European lifestyle) but the colors of red, white and blue always draw me in. One time at a vintage store in Brooklyn I literally almost physically fought with a girl over this anchor pine with red white and blue beading. There is no really point to this blog entry I just thought I should express my pride over my permanent fashion statement that will always be in style for a fourth of the year!
