Flawless skin is a goal that can feel unattainable. The good news is that with a little work and some time flawless skin is achievable. Imperfections such as acne, blackheads or worse are treatable with a few simple steps.

Skin Type

Figuring out skin type is the first step towards perfect skin. Normal skin is neither too dry or too oily. Dry skin will have flaking and small pores. Oily skin is marked by a shiny appearance and larger pores. Most people have combination skin with patchy dry spots and an oily zone around the nose.

Cleanse and Control

Buy and use the correct products for your skin type. A gentle scrub preps the skin for the cleanser. Pick a cleanser that is non-comdogenic. These products will not clog your skin or worsen acne problems. Use a toner to control the skin's pH. A good toner will also help keep up skin moisture. It can be difficult to find the right products. A beauty salon specialist can offer guidance. They may even be able to give product samples to try.

Unwanted Hair

Many people suffer from hair in unattractive places. Permanent hair removal is the best option. Shaving or waxing is irritating to the skin and can cause other problems. Professional laser removal is a solution for many people. Some companies, like The Sheen Vein Institute, know that waxing and shaving can be painful and ineffective.  During laser hair removal, the hair root is killed, ending the problem. Some people might prefer IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light. IPL systems can be used for the face, body and legs. They destroy the root as well as more costly laser treatments. There are also home use machines on the market.

Use Moisturizer and Sunscreen

Skin needs to be protected from dry air and damaging sun. Facial sunscreens are made without the heavy skin clogging oils found in body sunscreen. Only use body sunscreen on the face as a last resort. Use a sunscreen that blocks both UV-A and UV-B rays to lower the risk of skin cancer. Today many moisturizer creams have included sunscreen for convenience. Try brands that have an SPF 15+ level.

Develop a Routine

Use your scrubs and cleansers every other day. Using them too often will dry the skin. Not using them enough will allow buildup. Warm water and a clean cloth are used once at night and once in the morning. Apply your sunscreen each day. Fair skinned individuals might need to re-apply around noon. Always wash your hands before touching your face.

Clear flawless skin is not just for models anymore. Using the right products and hair removal treatments gives you a fresh-faced look. You won't have to hide under make-up anymore.
