As fashion trend come and go, one thing for sure is that many of these old fashion trends are making a comeback a comeback into the fashion world. From Chokers to motor leather jackets to jelly sandals, here are 8 old fashion trends that are making a huge come back.

1.    Overalls

The comfy and cool Overalls, especially denim ones were a fashion staple for the 90’s child. According to celebrity news, they were the perfect outfit for plays and tumbling and now making a comeback thanks to the many celebrities and designers being spotted wearing them. In fact, playsuits and jumpsuits were inspired from the overall style.

Overalls have been transformed into overall shorts, distressed jeans and more – making it the perfect outfit for your day off. While overalls had taken a total makeover as they’ve become significantly chic, they still remain comfortable in their tomboyish roots.

2.    Choker Necklace

It’s a trend that keeps coming back as the 90’s resurgence. Choker necklaces come in velvet, rhinestones, leather, metals and has been seen everywhere on the necks of celebrities, models, and fashion bloggers. Chockers also have a multi-wrapped version with layered chokers. Rihanna has been seen wearing her choker with paired chains for a chic mix of fabric and metal. This choker trend has also been upgraded to rhinestone and leather, gold chains, and the dramatic tassel.

3.    Jelly Sandals

If you grew up in the early 90s, then you’re probably familiar with the infamous jelly sandal trend. Clear jelly sandals are plastic and sometimes glittery that many young girls undeniably adored. Classic jellies are best worn with a chunky heel as they once stemmed from clear and hot pink colors to every color in the rainbow.

Lately, fashion brands like Topshop are bringing back the trend by introducing the jelly sandal back in time for summer footwear. Brands like Melissa have also paired well with Vivienne Westwood to give the jelly shoe trend a makeover with an adult modern twist.

4.    Plaid Flannel Shirts

This stylish piece has been a wardrobe staple for the past several years as flannel tops are both effortless and fashionable. The best ensembles often contain a balance of femininity and masculinity as it adds character to an outfit. Skinny jeans and short shorts look amazing when paired with plan flannel shirts. Celebrities have also been spotted to tie a flannel around your waist for a basic top and pants combo for a pop of pattern. Flannel shirts can be layered over a trendy bomber jacket or styled down with a short skirt.

5.    Crop Tops

Ever since spring fashion week, designers ever have been sending models in bare midriffs down the catwalk. Crop tops are seen on street style blogs, celebrities and even have transformed into formal gowns on the red carpet. Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus are famously known to sport the trendy peekaboo style pieces as they are easy to wear, versatile and fresh as the summer’s hottest trend.

The key to rocking the bare crop top is to wear one under a pair of overalls or a maxi skirt for the perfect way to show subtle skin. While fitted crop tops were the 90s style, it’s not just about the shrunken fit as flowy romantic shapes are rocking the season’s trend, especially with tapered pajama-style pants.

6.    Dr. Martens

Dr. Marten’s boots have been in the fashion world since the early 1960s and have begun resurgence in popularity in 2015. They were first introduced in Britain as they were first worn by blue collar workers. These boots have grown into each coming movement from punk in the 70s, new wave in the 80s, and definitely grunge in the 90s. As styles were glossy patent black or brown, they are now available in every shade from metallic hues to pastel shades.

7.    Peasant Tops

The 1970s bohemian trend is making a huge come back as it became a hit during spring 2015 fashion week and doesn’t look to be leaving anytime soon. This casual blouse has been spotted in Paris Runways like Saint Laurent, Chloe, Isabel Marant and is taken fashion by storm as models, style bloggers and celebrities has been spotted wearing peasant tops with a midi skirt, flare jeans and denim shorts.

8.    Floral Headpieces

Flowers and petals have been features in designs for jewelry and tiaras for centuries, and have come back into notice in 2015. Celebrities from Nicole Richie to Vanessa Hugdens have brought back this 70s style turning this stile into a trendy headpiece look. When combined with loose tops, beach waves and jeans – a floral headpiece will set the tone of a bohemian feel into any outfit.

Let history repeat itself with these old fashion trends that have taken the fashion world by storm. While growing up in the nineties was not our most fashion-conscious era – perhaps these comeback styles will make you want to wear these fashion trends all over again.
