Fashion Industry Network

The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

Why can't we simply design clothing, produce clothing, market clothing, and distribute clothing? It appears that in today's world, if your fashion business is lucky enough to become large and successful you have more to worry about than late deliveries, loose threads, or buyer charge backs. As a prime example, take a look at what happened this week to Tween Brands (a large public company).

Today I have read that a shareholder class action was filed against Tween Brands, Inc. A law firm had issued notice that a class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of all purchasers of securities (company stock) of Tween Brands, Inc. from May 23, 2007 through August 21, 2007. In my opinion the reasoning behind the lawsuit is silly, but I am not a lawyer. Anyway, my point is that even when you become a huge successful company, you will always have difficulties. Maybe we are better off staying mom and pop boutiques and indie designers...

If you wish to read more on this topic, I had actually posted additional comments in the "Financial Fashion Forum" found in the forum area of this site (new forum created today).

Please note that the post is a bit long and possibly boring, so you may not want to read it... Anyway, it is there if you want to view...
