June’s Spendthrift: Bag Borrow or Steal

Ok, so North By Northwest is currently obsessed with the Sex and the City movie. Our staff got a private screening the night before it premiered and let me tell you…it was just as fabulous as I knew it would (had to) be! Full of jaw-dropping fashion and style, like only Sex and the City could deliver, there were fabulous Manolo’s that caused constant drool from one of my editors and of course unbelievable handbags that I myself constantly kept wishing for the guts to pull off. Either way, the movie, to say the least, has become one of my favorites of all time. So for June’s spendthrift I decided to feature a website that’s also featured in the movie: Bag Borrow or Steal. This website is dedicated to offering designer bags as rentals for those of us who can’t afford to hop on our private jets to Manhattan and shop Louis Vuitton to your heart’s content. There are both weekly and monthly rates, as well as just about every major designer you could ever ask for (and many fabulous ones you may not have heard of yet). But what if you fall in love with the handbag you’re renting? Then what? Fear not my friends, it’s not just Bag Borrow…there’s a steal aspect as well. You can purchase the handbag (minus the rental payments you’ve already made!) like a rent-to-own house. So go on…let the match maker on the site pair you with the perfect bag…then take her for a spin.
