Oh Fashionable society...Creating & Spotting Trends. HOW?

Hello there again my lovely fashionistas,

As all of you are part of the fashion industry, I'm sure your realize the importance of the 'trend-potential' element when designing/creating a fashion.* As creators, you'd want everyone to wear/use your fashion, which gives it some sort of validity ( that does NOT apply to crocs). If it becomes a trend- It's cool, it's funky, everyone's wearing it.**

The fashion trend, i.e. the overwhelming use and popularity of a specific style, is your personal stamp of approval.

So

When creating a fashion, what makes you believe that it will become a trend-that everyone will want it and wear it? What factors do you take into account? (Of course, this does not apply to designers that only desire exclusivity and do not want to cater to the masses…)

And

How does one spot a trend? Do they have an 'eye' for trends? Is it a trend instinct?

Also

Do you CARE if your fashion becomes a trend? Do you want it to? Will it make you feel your item was a success?

Last but not least,

Which came first-the chicken or the egg?

Waiting to hear your genius thoughts!!!
Mucho love,
TrendLover

*Major brand and celebrity fashions are HUGE contributors to the making of a trend. Forget about them now..I will discuss it in a different post…
**I personally do not wear trendy clothing…I only follow trends. I like my style to be unique! :)
